Thomas Brinson – Head Golf Professional
Thomas is a PGA Professional with over 13 years of experience and expertise in up-scale private club operations. Mr. Brinson has excelled as a PGA Professional with the PGA of America. He has been on the PGA President’s Council every year since becoming a PGA member. He is only the 26th PGA Professional to complete all six (6) certifications through the Certified Professional Program. This places him among the top 2% of the 28,000 PGA Professionals throughout the country. The Certified Professional Program includes a Harvard Mentor Plus curriculum and is equivalent to an advanced college degree. His certifications include General Management, Executive Management, Golf Operations, Ownership/Leasing, Retail and Instruction. Mr. Brinson’s professional expertise stretches beyond just golf operations as he is an active member of the Club Manager Association of America (CMAA) pursuing the Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation.
Mr. Brinson has worked at some of the finest clubs in the Southeast including Charlotte Country Club, Atlanta Athletic Club (Site of the 2011 PGA Championship), White Columns Country Club, and Atlanta National Golf Club. Prior to coming to Raveneaux Country Club, Mr. Brinson served as the Head Golf Professional at historic Brunswick Country Club. While at these various clubs, Mr. Brinson has run many of the most respected amateur invitationals, professional events and USGA Championships.
Mr. Brinson is also a highly skilled instructor and club fitter; working with everyone from the most skilled golfers, to beginners and juniors. His teaching style has been honed by many of the top instructors in the country including PGA Tour instructors Jack Lumpkin and Cody Barden and likely the most respected putting guru on tour, Mike Shannon. Mr. Brinson’s hands on teaching style include video instruction, laser optics putting, and launch monitor club fitting.
Mr. Brinson is a graduate of The Florida State University with a BS is Hospitality Administration. He and his wife Alexandra have a son Tyler.
